A crate is essential for so many reasons: It is a safe place for your curious puppy to be when you are not able to supervise them. Dogs instinctively try to keep their sleeping areas clean, so an appropriate sized crate will help with house training!
Wondering what size of crate to buy? (24", 30", 36")? Most of our pups will require the 30" crate. We will let you know if you should be looking at one of the other sizes when we match you and before you bring your puppy home.
Crate covers help support a pets relaxation and encourages sleep, which is always an advantage when you bring your puppy home.
A good harness, that is the proper fit for your pup, will reduce pulling, increase control over your pets, and decrease stress on their neck and back by dispersing pressure over a larger area of the dogs body. We have found that the Front Range Harness from Ruffwear is a great fit for our pups and is what we use with them during their leash training. It is important for continuing their leash training that you have the correct size harness for when you bring your puppy home, even though that may mean you will need to buy a second one once they have grown.
There are a few products that are essential to the grooming care of your puppy.
Here are a few of our recommendations for when you bring your puppy home:
Brush: 2-in-1 Detangler by Wet Brush: one side is ideal for freeing up entangled hair and the other side is great for combing out loose hair
The wet brush pet brush helps get the knots out of your pets fur for a smooth and shiny coat
Pet Steel Comb: another option for getting those tangles, mats, loose hair and dirt off your pets
EcoEars Dog Ear Cleaner: use for itch, smell, and gunk. Helps wash away common ear problems caused by built up wax, dirt and grime and leaves the ears fresh and clean. You may not need this right away when you bring your puppy home, but it is a great product to have on hand and begin using early so they become comfortable with having their ears cleaned
Eye Wash: helps clean discharge from your pets eye caused by allergies or other eye problems. A product that you many not need right away when you bring your puppy home, but a good one to keep in mind for when you need it.
Ophthalmic gel (for those living in dry climates): provides safe and effective relief for your pets eye irritation or wounds. Depending on where you live you may want to have this one when you bring your puppy home. Ask us if this is recommended for where you live!
